Our non-profit group has brought a source of economic and social stimulus to the local community in Falmouth and Cumberland for over 20 years.  Each season we hold two weekly markets where local farmers and artisan producers offer the public a wide variety of products. Items offered for sale include (but are not limited to) farm vegetables and fruits, baked goods, honey, cheeses, preserves, meat and poultry, wild harvested mushrooms, prepared & specialty foods, animal products, flowers and plants. The list goes on and on!

The markets will be open each Saturday in Cumberland (290 Tuttle Road) from 10AM – 1PM beginning in May and each Wednesday in Falmouth (22 Hat Trick Drive) from 10AM – 1PM beginning in May.

We run the only farmers market in both Falmouth and Cumberland. There is no other competition offering locally farmed, cultivated or handmade artisan goods in the area. Everything we sell is grown, made or harvested in Maine exclusively. This is the only opportunity in Falmouth and Cumberland to meet the farmer or artisan who is selling their product.

According to the USDA, “Farmers markets are an integral part of the urban/farm linkage and have continued to rise in popularity, mostly due to the growing consumer interest in obtaining fresh products directly from the farm. Farmers markets allow consumers to have access to locally grown, farm fresh produce, enables farmers the opportunity to develop a personal relationship with their customers, and cultivate consumer loyalty with the farmers who grows the produce.”

A recent study of farmers market visitors have shown that visitors are health conscious, highly educated, affluent and care about locally sourced sustainable products.

In order for our non-profit to be successful, help is needed to fund the costs associated with running two top quality markets over a period of 25 weeks.  None of the vendors are paid for their contributions in running the markets; we all enthusiastically volunteer our time.  Each vendor is required to pay an annual membership fee that supports the annual budget.  The membership fees from each vendor help pay for expenses such as: liability insurance, signage, advertising, music, website maintenance and other costs.

We believe you would be a fantastic partner because you are a neighbor! We are asking for your support to help fund the continued success of the 50 markets CFMA hosts this season.  We invite you to support this worthwhile and valuable investment in your community.

Attached are details of the various support levels, along with the sponsorship rewards.  We encourage you to consider becoming a Friend of the Market. Your support helps the local economy while building pride in the community.
